United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Fund Raising Manager (Humanitarian Fundraising) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Fund Raising Manager (Humanitarian Fundraising) will perform the following functions:
- Strategic Advice
- Network and coordinate with a diverse and dynamic group of internal and external stakeholders – with a particular focus on Fundraising Directors in fundraising markets – to identify key opportunities for revenue growth with emergencies.
- Provide strategic advice and one-to-one support to priority markets to help achieve and exceed their income targets through emergencies, identify any challenges to strategic execution, and proactively explore solutions for implementation.
- Understand the hidden barriers to strategic implementation, at global and market level, and work collaboratively with others to overcome these internal and external barriers.
- Develop a continuous learning system to evaluate strategic execution against revenue targets, apply lessons and institutionalize new capabilities.
- Capacity Building
- Works closely with priority National Committees, Country Offices, and line reports to ensure best-in-class humanitarian fundraising strategies are in place to grow revenue.
- Through regular contacts with private sector fundraising directors and specialists in markets, as well as other sources of insights at HQ level (Market Knowledge research, financial analysis, marketing, etc.), identifies trends and key factors of success and influence markets to adjust strategies and priorities through capacity building activities.
- Closely works with Knowledge Management and Internal Communication specialists to disseminate guidance on humanitarian fundraising strategies, techniques, and assets.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- An advanced university degree in Social Sciences or a related technical field is required.
- Alternatively, a first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with two additional years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- Minimum 8 year’s of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in private sector fundraising and engagement, with emphasis on working on humanitarian response, is required.
- Understanding of the strategic challenges brought about by today’s private sector humanitarian fundraising environment is required.
- Experience working with business intelligence (market knowledge, market research and marketing insights) is required.
- Experience leading or implementing national and international fundraising plans for humanitarian response is required.
- Proven high-level organization and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders are required.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the UN private sector fundraising and humanitarian ecosystems is an asset.
- Experience with UN/UNICEF is an asset
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of other official UN Languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an asset.
