I was a tellers assistant. We had to go to a technical school to learn how to do our job and get certified.
The bonuses were pretty good, but the hours were brutal. I worked in the evenings and weekends.
Ivy League schools? Nah, we were told to memorize the names of our branches (NY, DC, etc) and we had to know our branch number and routing number. We had to memorize the branch number and teller number of any teller we ever saw. That was it.
