Second of all…this place has a way of amplifying whatever energy you put into it. If you go looking for good vibes, you’ll find them more often. Same for knowledge, laughs, niche fandoms, etc. And for the negative stuff too: trolling, mediocrity, meanness, etc.
AskReddit in particular is large enough that it has a very “lowest common denominator” feel. There are a lot of immature people on here, a lot of mean people, a lot of trolls, a lot of people trying to stir up trouble, a lot of horny people. But in between that unpleasantness there are some great questions and conversations and moments of of insight, connection, and beauty! =D
