Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Finance Assistant in Amman, Jordan.
DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Finance Assistant will perform the following functions:
- Processing of petty cash transactions on daily basis. Ensure petty cash is replenished on time to meet daily cash needs. Carry out cash count in monthly basis.
- Prepare payment ensuring that timely and accurate payments are made.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of payment documents in compliance with DRC policies and procedure.
- Ensuring timely preparation of social security payments and deposit into bank.
- Be the focal point at the tax department ensuring timely preparation of income and service tax payments and deposit into bank.
- Visit Bank for necessary collection and submission of financial documents.
- Ensure availability of bank check books.
- Maintain online banking requirements and updates.
- To be prepare and update the country authorization signatures tables.
- To support the closure of the monthly DRC accountancy.
- Regularly follow up with all outstanding advances and make sure that those advances are reconciled on time.
- Resource scheduling for Amman and Expat staff.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- Candidate should have a Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 1 year experience in an NGO setting.
- Experience in Using ERP System Dynamics 365 is a Plus.
- Experience in Dealing with Suppliers and aware with Donors Rules and Regulations.
- VA very good level of English speaking, reading and writing.
