About the Role
By working with cross functional teams, the Supply Chains Operations Manager for M-Pesa Africa will oversee and optimize supply chain processes. This role will be responsible for documentation and continuous improvement of supply chain processes, demand planning, Supplier performance, supplier relationship management, supplier Net Promoter Score, supplier Quarterly Business Reviews, Supply Chain Governance and compliance, supply chain automation initiatives, procurement training and Budget Coordination.
Responsibilities
Develop, document, and continuously improve supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to industry best practices.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance.
Monitor and analyse supplier Net promoters Score to assess satisfaction levels, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance supplier relationships.
Conduct supplier Quarterly Business Reviews to evaluate performance, address issues, and identify opportunities for collaboration and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with supply chain governance standards, including conducting audits, managing risks, and reviewing cybersecurity measures.
Identify opportunities for supply chain automation and lead initiatives to streamline processes, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
Coordinate procurement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the procurement team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Collaborate with finance and other relevant departments to coordinate and manage the procurement budget effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, operations management, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
3+ years proven experience in Supply Chain operations, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
Experience in working in a telecommunication service provider/Fintech organisation in emerging markets.
Strong knowledge of Supply Chain processes, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders at various levels.
Experience in conducting supplier performance evaluations, QBRs, and implementing supplier relationship management strategies.
Familiarity with Supply Chain governance, compliance, and risk management practices
Proficiency in Supply Chain automation tools and technologies.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
