Fully Funded African Leadership Center Peace, Security & Development Fellowships for Young Professionals
Applications are now open for the 2024/2025 African Leadership Center (AlC) Peace, Security & Development Fellowships. Established over 10 years ago, the ALC has played a critical role in shaping the next generation of African leaders, nurturing talent and African ideas and knowledge to advance the transformation of African societies.
Located in both Nairobi, Kenya and King`s College London, UK, the ALC strives to inform and influence academic, research and policy discourses on leadership, peace, security & development on the African continent and globally.
The ALC Fellowship programmes seek to produce high performing graduates with identifiable leadership characteristics and skills, who generate cutting-edge research on peace, security and development and participate in institutional, national and regional networks to train and mentor the next generation of African academics.
Eligibility
Funding
This award is available to young African scholars who are interested in pursuing research and academic careers in peace, security, and development. It encompasses an eighteen-month period, comprising rigorous academic research, writing and policy analysis in the field of peace and security and a six-month attachment to an African University, a Regional Organisation, or a Centre of Excellence based in Africa to acquire practical experience.
Fellows gain academic knowledge within the MSc Global Leadership and Peacebuilding programme at King’s College London and benefit from uniquely tailored mentoring sessions. During the fellowship, fellows contribute to the African Leadership Centre’s ten-year research agenda entitled “Peace, Society and the State in Africa.”
