Europeans of Reddit, how do you feel about the current politics of the US?

I’m surprised that everyone is complaining about racism and pushing for the party that was Pro-slavery, created the KKK, and enacted the Jim Crow laws. It doesn’t make any sense. I mean, people are tearing down statues over sins of the past and complaining about Columbus, but then turn around and give a free pass to the Democrats. Totally weird.
