Gelian Hotel Operations Manager Jobs in Kenya
Gelian Hotel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in hotel management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Daily Operations: Manage and supervise all aspects of the hotel’s operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and security, to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the hotel.
Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that the highest level of guest satisfaction is achieved by maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Address and resolve guest concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise department heads and front-line staff. Set performance targets, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide guidance and support to ensure staff are motivated and delivering exceptional service.
Financial Management: Work closely with the finance department to develop and manage the hotel’s operating budget, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control standards across all hotel departments, including housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services, to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products and services.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards to provide a safe and secure environment for guests and staff. Develop and maintain emergency procedures and protocols.
Inventory and Supplies Management: Oversee inventory management, including ordering and maintaining adequate supplies of hotel operational items, such as linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective services, such as maintenance, supplies, and equipment.
Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for operational improvements, develop and implement efficient processes, and monitor key performance indicators to enhance productivity and profitability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience in hotel management or operations management, preferably in a four-star or higher-rated hotel.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
Sound understanding of financial management and budgeting principles.
Proficient in hotel management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards in the hospitality industry.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
