Randridge-Keltron Joint Venture Project Commercial Manager Jobs in Uganda
Main Purpose of the Post
To manage the commercial, contractual and quantity surveying functions of the project, from contract award to final account and to ensure the maximum company contribution
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Set up commercial procedures for the project and develop a good relationship with the client’s commercial team.
• Review contract documents to highlight commercial and legal implications and financial risks to the project.
• Ensure variations extras/claims risk contra charges are addressed and agreed upon on an ongoing basis.
• Agree with the project manager, in light of contract obligation and any other undertakings to the client, the structure and form of interim and final progress measurement and claims.
• Ensure that claims are formulated in line with these constraints and accurately recorded.
• Ensure close cooperation between project/construction management, commercial, and planning staff as regards assessment of monthly progress, accounting for day works undertaken and identification and evaluation of variations and additions to the original contract
• Review claims submitted by sub-contractors and recommend for payment or otherwise
• Coordinate with site managers and engineers to ensure the project schedule is maintained.
• Measure the quantity of materials and equipment arrived at the site, and confirm the specification and quantity as required by the project plan.
• Ability to derive rates as per given drawings standards and specifications and verify the same rates prevailing in the market
• Preparing monthly comprehensive cost reports including bills, project costs, contracts, cash flow, etc.
• Assist in the provision of
commercial and contractual advice based on the contract documents and industry standard documents.
• Attend and contribute to regular commercial meetings with the client and other contractors
• Carry out cost estimates for alterative design solutions
• Verification and certification of installed quantities by subcontractors. Ensure a high standard of workplace safety, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conduct.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree diploma in engineering (electrical mechanical) or science degree in quantity surveying or related from a recognized institution or university.
• Excellent estimation and cost management experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience gained in large onshore offshore oil and gas projects (>$10 million)
• Professional registration in a construction-related field, RICS or related.
