Job Objective
AAA Growers – Veg is a division within AAA Group that deals with vegetables, chilies, and herbs. At AAA Growers – Veg, we produce a variety of premium & prepared vegetables, herbs, chilies, and fruits. Demand by some of our clients led to addition of herbs into the product range that AAA exports.
The growing started mid 2010 in chestnut Farm on a small scale and currently the herbs are spread across our three farms. Our herbs are grown both in-house and open field to ensure continued supply across the year and consistent quality.
As the Greenhouse Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that you produce greenhouse crops in
the farm as per the guidelines given by the Farm Manager.
You will also be expected to ensure that Labor is 100% utilized effectively and the company’s goal of that day is achieved. We also expect you to deal with hiccups that may threaten your execution within the farm. Greatness, Responsibility, Openness and Warmth are the values you live and work by.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
To plan all the Greenhouse operations for the month, week, and day to day in consultation with
the farm manager.
To ensure that all crop husbandries i.e., land preparation, planting, weeding, crop care, pruning, coiling/stringing, irrigation and spraying etc. are done to the highest possible standard.
In liaison with the head of picking, give up-to-date short term and long-term predictions on picks for all the Greenhouse crops. Also ensure achievement of daily and weekly harvests as per the predictions.
To ensure that produce is picked on time, handled carefully and is of highest quality in
accordance with the packhouse standards.
To co-ordinate produce handling and transport to the packhouse.
To communicate with the packhouse daily and make regular visit to confirm quality conformance.
To supervise spraying and ensuring that weekly and daily spray programs are implemented on time and efficiently and maintain high standards of spraying by ensuring that there is proper spray
coverage, correct volumes of spray solutions are used, and no chemical is lost through wind drift or spillage.
Planning, Implementation, and evaluation of Irrigation Schedules for the Greenhouses.
To supervise irrigation ensuring that weekly and daily programs are implemented on time and
efficiently.
To maintain high standards of irrigation by ensuring that there is proper water coverage, correct volumes of water are used, and no water is lost through spillage.
Planning, Implementation, and evaluation of Fertigation schedules in Liaison with the Farm Manager.
Plan and oversee the correct use, timely and Proper maintenance of all irrigation tools, system, Equipment in the farm and maintain them at maximum efficiency.
Formulate and implement a schedule for opening and closing of curtains/ventilation as per crop
requirements.
Checking and reporting any damages/ faults in the greenhouses to the construction team and
farm manager for prompt repairs.
Formulate and implement a schedule for showering and Greenhouse humidity control as per crop requirements.
Ensure maintenance of highest hygiene standards inside and outside the green houses.
To ensure all Greenhouse operations are in conformance to audit standards, code of practices
and company policies.
Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or Horticulture/ Diploma holders with extensive knowledge and experience.
Practical and decisive – understand how an effective and efficiently run growing operation can contribute to stronger overall business profitability.
Ability to plan and meticulously organise the team to ensure optimum outcomes in adherence to
quality, cost, and timeframe parameters.
Excellent people management and communication skills.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues across the farm/ company.
