Charlotte Raeuchle is an urban geographer and has a diverse work experience in the field of urban development and smart cities, with a particular interest in the social dimension of smart cities. Currently, Raeuchle works as a scientist at the German Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development. There, she manages, among others, projects on German municipalities’ participation in European networks and initiatives on digital urban development. Furthermore, she supervises research on digital services of general interest, smart cities in India and Germany, smart city solutions, and urban data platforms. Previously, she worked as a scientist at different German universities in projects on citizen participation in urban development, community engagement and migration.
Charlotte Raeuchle has an interdisciplinary background as she holds a PhD in Applied Geography from Humboldt-Universität Berlin, an MSc in Urban Studies from University College London and an MA in Cultural Anthropology and History from Hamburg University.
