Equity Bank Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Jobs in Kenya
Job Purpose:
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing secure and scalable cloud solutions. Key duties include implementing best practices for cloud security and monitoring, automating deployments using tools like Terraform, managing CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing cloud services for performance, cost, and security. The engineer will also provide advanced troubleshooting, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to maintain a robust cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
Implement best practices for cloud security, monitoring, and management.
Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure architecture diagrams and documentation.
Automate cloud infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for infrastructure changes.
Manage cloud services including compute, storage, networking, and databases.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure issues.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurring
Work closely with other IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide appropriate cloud solutions.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and issues.
Ensure that cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and best practices.
Implement and maintain compliance controls and documentation.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
Participate in knowledge sharing and training initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or a related role.
Experience with Azure cloud services is required.
Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and services (compute, storage, networking, etc.).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
