Multi Community Based Development Initiative Field Assistant – Community Jobs in Uganda
Job Purpose:
The Field Assistant-Community is responsible for coordination of community activities, session roll out and reporting at sub- county level. The Field Assistant will closely work with other structures at community and facility levels and will be responsible for sub-county level mobilization, coordination, oversight, data collection, review and consolidation of sub-county level reports across platforms.
Key duties, responsibilities and deliverables
Coordination:
• In collaboration with the FA-Facility, periodically visit households of non-suppressors
and support non-suppressing children to ensure they suppress.
• Liaise with program specialist to organize sub county case conference meetings
• Participate in facility meetings as invited for follow up of issues at household level
• Coordinate the works of Sub County level field structures (PSWs, ECD, SINO, MNM and IPTg facilitators)
• Participate in Sub County planning and coordination activities (SCWC meetings)
• Participate in performance review meetings (Districts and Sub County) and events.
• Request for emergency fund for critical cases
Supervision:
• Supervise PSWs, ECD facilitators, SINO facilitators, No Means No (NMN) and IPTg facilitators to ensure effective and quality program delivery
• Periodically appraise the performance of PSWs, ECD facilitators, SINO facilitators, NMN and IPTg facilitators.
• Mentor, coach and train the team under your supervision.
• Assist the program team in conducting planned surveys and studies
• Conduct community dialogues and outreaches closely with other structures
• Roll out respective sessions in line with your speciality (VSLA, BIM and Journeys)
Representation:
• In consultation with Program Specialists, represent ICARE
in the sub county level meetings and other events
OVC Support roles:
• Identify, screen and enrol all eligible OVCs on the program
• Develop house hold improvement plans for enrolled households and ensure implementation of household care plans
• Support periodic data collection and ensure timely submission
• Provide support in the referral and linkage of OVCs for services such as health, education services, apprenticeship, Family health, among others.
• Support documentation and updating of OVC files at ICARE offices
• Network and collaborate with relevant partners at the Sub County level in the provision
of comprehensive services to OVCs
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
• Must possess a diploma in any Social Sciences discipline or At least 5years experience implementing project activities at community level.
• Good skills in community mobilization
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Possess basic knowledge in HIV/AIDS programming
• Experience working with OVCs
• Good skills in Networking and collaboration
