Public Service Commission Assistant Director, Research Jobs in Kenya

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

  • served for a minimum period of eight (8) years, three (3) of which must have been at

    the grade of Senior Research Officer, CSG 9 and above or in a comparable and relevant

    position in the wider public service;

  • a Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines;- Education, Economics/Statistics,

    Human Resource Management/Development/Planning, Business Administration,

    Information Science, Sociology, Political Science/Government Anthropology or any

    other relevant qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;

  • a Certificate in Research Methods or equivalent qualification from a recognized

    institution; for those without a research-based degree;

  • membership to a relevant professional body;

  • demonstrated professional competence and managerial leadership capability as

    reflected in work performance and results.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • designing research projects and data collection instruments/tools;

  • coordinating the data collection process;

  • leading and coordinating research and innovation project teams; supervising data

    collation and analysis;

  • drafting of the criteria for defining categories of innovation;

  • overseeing documentation of innovations;

  • coordinating showcasing of innovations;

  • preparing research innovation reports;

  • coordinating dissemination of research reports; and coordinating of stakeholders

    engagement; and

  • undertaking monitoring and evaluation of service delivery innovations in

    Ministries/Departments and Agencies to ensure viable innovations are shared and

    replicated.
