Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct and manage new variety screening trials across multiple sites within East Africa to support product development.
Engage and collaborate with both large-scale and smallholder farmers to ensure the adoption and optimal use of new and existing seed varieties.
Regularly report progress, findings, and insights to the Regional Manager & Global Agronomist.
Work closely with the sales team to convert development work into product sales, offering technical support and insights to drive sales performance.
Travel extensively within the East African region to oversee trials, engage with farmers, and support sales activities.
Gather and analyze market data to refine product offerings and support continuous improvement.
Educate farmers and sales teams on the benefits and proper usage of existing and new seed varieties through workshops, field days, and one-on-one sessions.
Exhibit a high level of self-motivation, energy, and enthusiasm to drive product development and sales efforts.
Provide technical and Agronomical support to international growers and exporters
Duties & Responsibilities:
Degree/Masters in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in agronomy, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in the vegetable seed industry.
Predominantly English language, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including
International farmers, Smallholder Farmers, sales teams, and regional managers. Swahili also extremely useful.
In-depth knowledge of agricultural practices, particularly related to vegetable crops, seed variety development, and agronomic trials. Practical experience/understanding of Global GAP, BRc, Basis, FACTS, HACCP, F2F, Leaf, Iso 9001 etc will be extremely useful.
Strong analytical skills to interpret trial results and market feedback for product improvement.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the East African region.
Ability to translate development work into product sales, supporting the commercial objectives of the company.
Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
