Job Summary

The successful applicant will be expected to lead the following functions; Cash and Assets Management;Payments and Utilities Management, Planning and Budgeting,Statutory Returns and Payroll Deductions, Reporting and Controls, and Relationship Management in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner in line with the established guidelines.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Cash and Assets Management-perform reconciliations and maintaining an up-to-date asset register
  • Take part in Planning and Budgeting processes
  • Participating in the development, review, and implementation of the payable policies and procedures in line with best practices and industry trends;
  • Gathering and verifying invoices for appropriate documentation, processing of payment vouchers, filing and maintaining correct payables ledgers
  • Payments and Utilities Management-Clarifying any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures, obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
  • Ensuring transactions are captured in journals, ledgers, and other records, reconciling accounts payable transactions
  • Reporting and controls-Preparing an analysis of accounts, leading in month-end closure of books and monitoring accounts to ensure representation of a fair view of all books of accounts
  • Participate in interim and final audit processes by maintaining accurate historical records; and provision of supporting documentation
  • Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

    Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or other business related fields from a recognized institution.
  • Must be a qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ACCA
  • Excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Financial and Management Accounting; Taxation, and relevant legislation.
  • High proficiency in the use of standard PC packages with a good understanding of spreadsheets and systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Nav
  • High organization and communication skills to be able to interact with people at all levels, handle multiple priorities and get things done with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills coupled with the ability to solve problems and form conclusions.
