Job Summary/ Purpose
The Land Surveyor will support the Credit, Investment units by providing verification services of all reports and expert advice/oversight on all valuation reports, land survey, titling and ensure strict adherence to the UDBL’s credit risk appetite, Policies, and Procedures.
Accountability Statement
The Land Surveyor is accountable for the provision of quality verification services and delivery of the KRAs of the valuation unit within the Credit
Directorate thereby contributing to the delivery of the Bank’s purpose and High Impact Goals (HIGs).
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
• Producing valuation reports of land or real estate based on the applicable standards and guidelines.
• Coordinating with prequalified Survey and legal firms to support completion of enterprise titles process.
• Verifying site data and tendering advice on reports submitted from prequalified firms on property values.
• Maintaining an up-to-date data bank on property values to guide the bank on credit decisions.
• Tendering technical support and guidance to investments/Credit teams on land valuation matters.
• Preparing and submitting Valuation reports.
• Coordinating contracted valuation activities and verifying their results.
• Preparation of reports on land titling, purchases, valuations, and verifications to guide business decisions
• Maintenance & establishment of relationship with external firms in relation to land survey & titling, and land offices.
• From time to time determine Survey fees
across the country as benchmark for the prequalified firms.
• Any other such duties that may be assigned by his/her supervisor and/or Management from time to time.
• To determine the value of land for purposes of acquisition, sale, loans or taxation by the Bank, coordination of processes with both internal and external stakeholders, verification, and maintenance of data base of these activities.
Qualifications
• An Honors bachelor’s degree in either Land Economics, Estates Management; Valuation; Land Management or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized Institution.
• Must be registered with the Surveyors Registration Board of Uganda.
Experience
• 5 years related experience in property valuations in a reputable organization.
