True North Hiab Truck Operator Jobs in Uganda
Job Purpose
Responsible for safely operating and maneuvering Hiab Trucks to lift, move, and transport heavy loads.
Activities
Operate Hiab Trucks to lift, position, and transport various types of cargo and materials.
Safely load and unload materials onto and from vehicles, ensuring proper balance and secure fastening.
Perform routine pre-operational inspections of the Hiab Truck and associated equipment.
Calculate Hiab truck capacities and weight distribution to ensure safe lifting and transport.
Follow established safety protocols, including rigging, signaling, and maintaining safe distances from work areas.
Coordinate with ground personnel to ensure safe loading and unloading procedures.
Communicate effectively with team members and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Follow work schedules, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Complete required documentation, such as logbooks and inspection reports, accurately and promptly.
Maintain the Hiab Truck and related equipment in good working condition by performing routine maintenance tasks.
Report any malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
Adhere to company policies, guidelines, and relevant regulations related to Truck operation and safety.
Person Specification
Skills & Experience Education and Training:
Minimum O’ level certificate
MUST be certified Haib operator as per BS 7121-1-4. LOLER 1998 & PUWER 1998
Holder of or in possession of valid driving permit class CM or CH.
Defensive driving certificate in heavy good vehicle and road safety or certificate of professional competence (Driver CPC) a plus.
Skills & Experience:
At least 7 years of relevant working experience
Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and safety in all tasks.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
