University of Nairobi Data Analyst – Fleming Fund Grant Jobs in Kenya
The Position
The position is domiciled in the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics in the Faculty of Health Sciences, under the Fleming Fund Kenya Grant. This is a project that will be conducted in several hospitals in Kenya to strengthen surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use.
Location
The position will be based at the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics and will report to the Principal Investigator.
Duties and Responsibilities
Update, write, validate and run statistical programs for monitoring and statistics (e.g. creation of datasets, tables, figures and listings).
Conduct data analysis and generate surveillance reports.
Assist with data cleaning and data management.
Prepare data documentation including data dictionaries, codebooks and data use manuals.
Summarize data and prepare routine and ad hoc reports and presentations to meet reporting requirements and requests for donors and stakeholders (e.g. PowerPoint, Dashboards).
Provide statistical programming expertise to project teams by preparing analytic data files, writing code for macros and utilizing macro libraries.
Develops and updates specifications for automated monitoring reports to be generated by study or project databases.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, Data
Science or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis (preferably using R and/or STATA) and statistical analysis with a high level of organization, autonomy, technical skill and team orientation
3-5 years of related experience designing, managing and working directly with databases from research studies
Demonstrated writing skills: reports, presentations and/or protocols
Demonstrated experience executing statistical programs for the creation of tables, figures, listings and analysis databases
