Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
Our client is a leading clean-energy company that provides its customers with electricity, heating and cooling as well as smart solutions to improve resource efficiency. The company operates a peat energy plant in Rwanda is looking for a competent Mechanical Technician work in Rwanda.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Carrying out all works within mechanical workshop maintenance and repair of all equipment associated within the power plant and within the workshop.
Under the direction of Mechanical Engineer perform assigned products manufacturing and assembly tasks, maintenance on mechanical systems, components and structural facilities to ensure the safety and efficiency of all mechanical equipment associated with the plant.
Troubleshoot, inspect and work on a variety of plant equipment.
Ensure all work activities are carried out in compliance with the site Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and all legislative obligations.
Responsible for work activities with contractors on site ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a mechanical discipline is required
Minimum of three years’ experience as dedicated machinist in Workshop machine operations is required
Excellent machine skills including use of lathes, mills, drills is required
Knowledge of reading mechanical drawings, general arrangement drawings and technical drawings.
Hands-on experience within industrial mechanical maintenance preferred.
Good knowledge of power plant equipment and technology, boiler, turbine, fuel handling and balance of plant preferred.
Good knowledge of working with Safe System of Work and permit to work system.
Must be able to fault find and rectify problems on mechanical equipment
Good communication & writing skills in English
