Americans of Reddit- How are interracial and gay couples treated in the South? Are they routinely attacked? If so, why?

The south is not a monolith. And what exactly qualifies as “routinely” might be a matter of debate or discussion. But broadly speaking, and understanding that there are a host of factors and variables involved, interracial and/or LGBTQ+ couples are more likely to face discrimination or hostility in the southern US than in the north.
