Public Service Commission Assistant Director, Social Welfare Jobs in Kenya
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have
served for a minimum period of eight (8) years, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Senior, Social Welfare Officer, CSG 9 and above or in a comparable and
relevant position in the wider public service;
a Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines;- Social Work, Sociology,
Psychology, Mental Health, Anthropology, Counseling or other equivalent
qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
be fully conversant with government policy on social welfare and rehabilitation; and
demonstrated personal competence and administrative capability.
Duties and Responsibilities
assisting the Deputy Director Social Welfare in formulating, implementing,
coordinating and supervising social welfare programmes;
coordinating both Government and Non-Governmental organizations involved in
social work and delivery of welfare care services;
coordinating policy and managing any donor funded support;
procuring and distributing education, recreational materials and equipment;
assisting in coordinating the general administrative duties, drawing up budgets; and
dealing with human resource matters
