Misericordiae Hospital Pharmaceutical Technologist Jobs in Kenya
Main Duties:
Accurate and timely posting of all pharmacy computer transactions for billing purposes.
Carrying out timely ordering for stock replenishment to the pharmacy store to maintain optimal stock
levels
Compounding, re-packaging and dilutions of drugs according to laid down guidelines.
Providing drug information to patients, doctors, nurses and other medical staff.
Participating in regular drug expiry, monitoring the pharmacy to identify and document items with expiry of less than six (6) months
Liaises with user departments to ensure adequate stocking and proper storage of emergency drugs and intravenous infusions and minimize losses due to expiries and damages.
Participating in quarterly stock take exercise and ensuring timely explanation of stock variances.
Participating in quality management system activities including documentation, analysis and reporting for continued improvement of services
Training pharmaceutical technologist interns
Entering prescription orders into the computer and making labels appropriately
Documenting dispensing errors and taking measures to minimize them.
Documenting adverse drug reactions
Receiving drugs and verifying against the stock transfer printout
Shelving items appropriately
Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required.
Any other duty assigned.
Required Qualifications for the Position
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
Registered/Enrolled with The Pharmacy
and Poisons Board (PPB) with a current Practicing License.
2 years of experience
Computer Proficient
