It’s weird but not uncommon to come across a goth that isn’t into goth music these days. They love dressing the part but don’t think goth music is necessary to be part of the subculture. Or even stranger still, they’ll name bands they like and none of them are goth but instead metal or screamcore. Some may even lean on pop like Willow Smith who wears the dressing of goth but is anything but.
I don’t know. Having grown up in the scene and still love the music but has long hung up my ankh, I’d rather have a goth who dresses normal but still loves the music than a goth who looks the part head to toe but doesn’t listen to the music.
