Nairobi Club is a private members’ Club, owned by its Members. It was established in 1901 by Members who realized the need for a home environment in the heart of Nairobi. The Club is the second oldest and most popular establishment of its kind in Kenya.
We are situated at the fast-growing Upper Hill region north of the Central Business District – (CBD). It is an easy 5-minute drive from the City Centre to the heart of Kenya’s premier Club.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join our management team. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health of our club. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can manage all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while driving efficiency and profitability
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the club’s growth and
financial stability.
Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, financial
planning, and analysis.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the Main Committee.
Manage the preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory
requirements and internal policies.
Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budget.
Oversee tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and other
stakeholders.
Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
Develop and implement robust internal controls and financial procedures.
Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from a recognized
institution. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Possession of professional accounting qualifications – ACCA, CPA (K) or its
equivalent.
Be a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) of good standing.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Demonstrated experience in financial management, planning, and analysis.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in the hospitality or members club industry is an advantage.
