Kisii County Superintending Quantity Surveyor Jobs in Kenya
Requirements for Appointment:
Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics/Quantity Surveying or its equivalent and
relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
Be Registered with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya as Quantity Surveyor;
Corporate Membership of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) or Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK);
Attended a Senior Management Course (SMC) lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution
Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of quantity surveying function;
Proficiency in computer application skills.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution of Kenya.
The Duties and Responsibilities Include: –
Evaluation and reporting on contractual claims from contractors, checking valuations for payments to contractors, resolution of disputes on cases requiring litigation or arbitration;
Responsible for cost information services, control and implementation of tendering and procuring procedures for construction projects, preparation of Cost hand books, handling correspondence, reports and papers on policy matters.
Coordination, checking and recommending for approval of tender documents including Bill of Quantities prepared by Quantity Surveyors in the section to ensure professional standards and accuracy;
Preparation of cost estimates, Bill of Quantities, monthly valuation on site, site remeasurements, preparation of variation orders and final accounts involving the implementation of development projects for various Departments;

Supervise the Quantity Surveying services in the County and will be responsible for the administration and supervision of all staff working under him/her;
Coordination of design, supervision of construction and maintenance of public buildings, civil and other public works;
Responsible for research activities;

Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveyors.
Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases or other legal documents
