Millennium Water Alliance Partnership & Program Officer Jobs in Kenya
Job Purpose
Support the identification and development of funding opportunities, globally, regionally, and by country, and new member recruiting and partnerships, to advance the MWA value proposition. The role will support both the MWA global hub and MWA field offices.
Key Responsibilities
Business development: provide business development support and execution for the global hub and field offices
Support development of a business development strategy for MWA
Map, identify, and track funding opportunities for MWA and members
Global: support the development of direct funding for the MWA value proposition, especially knowledge management and advocacy.
Field: support identifying funding opportunities and supporting field offices in developing relationships and writing concept notes and proposals when assigned. Support opportunities and funding to expand MWA’s operational footprint to additional countries.
Support the growth of MWA’s network
New member recruiting: identify and cultivate new members to the alliance
Support MWA’s goal of cultivating connections to non-traditional stakeholders relevant to WASH goals that will be valuable to MWA and its members (ie business, technology, research, finance entities).
Strengthen strong and effective connections between MWA members
Support the design of and facilitate Networking and Learning Events for MWA members in MWA’s current countries of operation and priority countries.
Proactively engage individual member offices.
Create ways to effectively and efficiently make connections and create opportunities between members globally and regionally.
Key Skills & Experience
University degree or higher required.
Proven track record of leading successful resource development efforts from opportunity identification to concept note and proposal writing: USAID, other bilaterals, private foundations, corporates.
Proven experience writing proposals that have been funded.
Communication skills: excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including creating and delivering relevant content.
Networking: strong network across the WASH and climate sectors and proven skills in cultivating relationships with leaders. Highly relational. Proven understanding of the value of complex partnerships to sustainably deliver WASH results.
Collaborative: experience developing inter-organizational collaborations and strong belief in the value of partnerships.
Flexible, adaptable, self-driven.
Creative, innovative.
Proven ability to meet strict timelines and due dates
Previous experience in a similar role will be considered an asset.
2-4 years’ experience in a similar or senior role
Experience using Microsoft 365, Zoom, MS teams, SharePoint.
Experience working with International NGOs.
Right to work in Kenya.
