Job Function
Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the M&E Coordinator is responsible for Monitoring & Evaluation of the organization’s initiatives as well as supporting the organization’s learning guided by the Business/ Strategic Plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and implement structures that support efficient Monitoring, Evaluation and research systems and databases to enable the organization’s program implementation and planning
Take lead of the program designs and implementation to ensure practical performance indicators (outcomes and output targets for the overall TOC) are defined for the different program areas.
Manage the Organization’s M&E e-platform and project Reservatory for the entire programme.
Oversee the process of harvesting outcomes in support of organizational learning.
Document and publish best practices of organizations’ programmes /Projects.
Lead the completion and optimal utilization of the organizations’ program ‘command central” information management system; the Monitoring the Monitoring and Evaluation Information Management System (MEIMS) that integrates organizational impact indictors with project activities and indicators to provide continuous evidence based progress form “progress dashboards” to inform on-going organizations’ learning, planning, accountability and growth.
Train, deploy and assign access to all professional staff across the different modules, projects and interfaces in the MEIMS system to ensure daily entry of project data and progress information, and filing of progress reports – as a repository for evidence-based analytics against organizational and project targets and budgets – to inform learning and planning.
Lead the strategic analysis and extraction of key performance trends from the MEIMS system, at both organizational and project levels, and disseminate internally and externally, as may be required, to inform and enhance the ECOTRUST impact narrative and professional visibility.
Lead and ensure constant liaison with the MEIMS system developers based in the Netherlands to secure guidance and support for optimizing all modules and applications available in the system.
Prepare theories of change (TOC), logical frameworks, M&E frameworks, and monitoring plans to support proposal development as may be required by the Business Development unit from time to time.
Prepare survey protocols and conduct various assessments and evaluations – as may be required by the organization and projects from time to time, including but not limited to, Baseline surveys, Mid and End-term project evaluations, Mid-Strategic plan and End of Strategic plan evaluations, research studies commissioned by organizations’.
Provide technical support to the other “program or project specific M&E platforms” operating outside the MEIMS system (but linked programmatically) to ensure soundness of M&E principles and data quality and accuracy of analytical outputs – including but not limited to, Trees for Global Benefit (TGB) program, Biodiversity Monitoring Program, and Business Case Development.
Prepare monthly progress reports for the MEIMS platform and support provided to other M&E platforms and Surveys, and support the preparation of high-quality annual reports and working papers through the provision of data and performance trends from the MEIMS system.
Academic, Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social sciences, or natural science from a recognized university. Training in database design and management & Participatory skills will be an added advantage
A proactive self-driven, highly motivates individual with the ability to understand and interpret technical information and share information with non-technical users. At least five years of working experience in a similar position.
Project development and management, Reasonable knowledge of Web technologies, protocols, and tools including e-project management,
