Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete projects
  • Surveying sites where electrical systems are installed
  • Reviewing and placing requisition for needed electrical supplies
  • Drafting electrical installation plans and technical diagrams
  • Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical systems in houses.
  • Supervising ongoing electrical system installations
  • Working hand in hand and providing technical expertise to installation teams where needed.
  • Completing work orders and providing reports on the works covered
  • Identifying electrical problems and repairing them
  • Addressing any customer complaints and service requests
  • Advising the company’s management on electrical related works
  • Conducting general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues with testing equipment
  • Keep accurate records for all project materials and tools issued to each project and ensure correct utilization of the same.
  • Help in other departmental works as may be directed by your supervisor to achieve company targets.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations
  • Liaison with KPLC on electrical matters such as installation and metering.
  • Attending technical meetings and presenting progress reports for electrical works.
  • Ensuring all electrical works meets the set required standards and electrical codes.
  • Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing works.
  • Conduct researches and advise on the new evolving electrical techniques.

    Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience as an Electrician in residential and commercial multi dwelling units/facilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Professional Membership with KETRB, IET or EPRA etc.
  • Have an ERC certificate.
  • Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints and maintenance and repair knowledge.
  • asic plumbing, masonry and carpentry skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Be accredited by NCA to conduct electrical works.
  • Understands policies for KPLC and experienced in their services application procedures.

  • Be able to establish an appropriate working relationship other team members on site to ensure harmonious working relationship while maintaining independence

  • Acting in a professional manner at all times including wearing personal protective equipment when on a construction site and when addressing the contractor’s employees, clients and other persons.
  • Be above board on integrity issues.
