Qualifications/ Experience Required
Bachelor of Laws degree with legal practice experience or Chartered Accountant with relevant experience (5-10 years’ work experience).
Ability to analyze and solve problems, working under minimal supervision.
• Ability to relate well to a wide variety of people in a professional and diplomatic manner.
Self-starter, detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
Professional report writing and presentation/ communication skills.
Action-oriented.
Main Objective
The main objective of this role is to contribute to the deployment of the Company’s compliance program and ensure all stakeholders of Total Energies Marketing Uganda Limited Including Management, Employees, Customers, Suppliers, JV Partners comply with relevant rules and regulations. The role holder must also ensure that all stakeholders observe company policies and procedures and that the observed behavior in the organization meets the Code of Conduct and other relevant Group policies as may be updated from time to time.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
Institute and maintain an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting awareness of the Code of Conduct, and understanding of new / existing compliance issues and related policies / procedures.
Conduct due diligence administration, including reviews and follow-up of due diligence questionnaires, and provide support to respective team members (business contacts) and third parties who need to conduct or undergo the process.
Provide advice on the performance of corruption and fraud risk analysis, due diligence and compliance related issues.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Internal Audit, Legal, Human Relations, etc.) on Compliance related investigations, resolutions, and closure of integrity alerts. Performs Compliance themed audit assignments within TEMUL in support of the Internal Audit Function
Collaborate with Human Resources, and other relevant sections to ensure maximum participation in the mandatory Compliance E-Learning and other trainings.
Promote the Company’s Compliance program to operational entities / associates of the Affiliate such as JV partners, Station staff, and facilitate appropriate training session for new / existing staff, dealers, vendors, transporters, etc
Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop corrective action plans for resolution of issues and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
Create a systematic corporate compliance reporting and monitoring system within the affiliate and to the Head Office (Paris)
Establish, implement and monitor appropriate metrics against which TotalEnergies Marketing Uganda Limited can measure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of its Compliance program.
Organize compliance related training periodically for all internal and external stakeholders.
Member of the Audit, Risk, Ethics and Compliance Committee
