Job Purpose
The Category Executive role is to support the Category Manager in achieving the set objectives by monitoring stock, sales, forecasts, and investments for assigned products with support of Category Coordinator. The Category executive will also have the responsibility for the preparation and implementation of the brand plans to achieve the growth targeted for each brand.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Work Relations
Work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure implementation of strategies and action plans.
Service Excellence
Foster trust relationships with suppliers to achieve better pricing and quality of services
Prepare, coordinate and present business information during reviews with all internal & external stakeholders
Attend to specific needs of customers (internal & external) as well as third parties and ensure that queries and assistance are provided in a timely manner and in compliance with service standards set
Ensure that the service level provided is up to expectations and standards set and relay any matter impeding service level to Management
Engage and collaborate with Management on Service Excellence initiatives
Budget
Assist Category Manager in budget preparation
Ensure that relevant actions are taken to achieve budgeted sales and GP
Monitor and manage GP, A&P and TPR as set in budget
Reports
Prepare and share business reports with the Category Manager on a regular basis
Marketing Development
Prepare sale forecast in collaboration with all relevant parties to ensure the sustainability of inventory
Manage stock to ensure optimal level of inventory
Collaborate with Category Manager in devising plan to achieve 5 Year target
Develop and implement brand plans for assigned portfolio to ensure growth and visibility of brands
Monitoring of pricing versus competitor and set GP target
Develop and implement plan for new products and labs for successful launch
Collaborate with the medical and sales teams to develop the market share of product categories through the implementation of the brand plans
Work in collaboration with the marketing and sales team to constantly monitor the market environment, describe the competitor landscape, assist in pricing strategies, and develop appropriate counter action plans.
Plan, Organize and carry out activities to promote the continuous education of healthcare professionals and customers on assigned products
Update training & promotional materials in conformity with regulatory and organisation requirements
Put in place a marketing activities/ events calendar and update it on a monthly basis.
Drive the KOL development for the category with a list of brand ambassadors per brand.
Qualifications, Skills and Other Prerequisites
Qualifications
Graduate level of education
MBA &/ or post graduate marketing qualification preferred
Experience
Previous experience in marketing of pharmaceutical products – preferable
Technical Knowledge & Skills
Organisational and leadership skills.
Analysis and strategic thinking with excellent reporting & presentation skills
Superb iinterpersonal and communication.
Result oriented with ability to meet tight deadlines
Can easily adapt to changes
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills
Computer literate – strong knowledge of MS Office tools and ability to learn new applications to be used for analysis, financial management and forecasting
