World Vision International NGO Senior Systems Administrator Jobs in Ghana
As a Sr. Systems Administrator you are responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting systems in a global environment (both on-premise and on-cloud environments).
Responsibilities:
Work on multiple projects as team lead and provide technical leadership in performing troubleshooting for complex hardware, operating system software, and basic network problems.
Develop and operate secure and highly available global computing platforms and design, install, maintain, and upgrade the enterprise’s systems operating environment.
Responsible for the infrastructure’s ongoing reliability, performance, and support which includes monitoring systems, responding to problems, and planning for growth.
Design and build the systems’ operating environment and infrastructure to meet business requirements. This includes servers, storage, and backup/restore services.
Monitor and optimize the performance of operating systems and applications such as Web, Windows, Linux, VMware, AWS, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
Maintain a secure systems environment by installing/maintaining security applications, managing access control mechanisms, and assigning user ids and passwords to authorize systems access.
Monitor automated system backup activities and execute contingency plans in case of system outages.
Analyze console messages, diagnose system failures, and take corrective action to ensure operations continuity.
Provide system backup processing, manages off-site storage, and leads disaster recovery tests.
Communicate and collaborate well with system users and other technical colleagues.
Work across all functional areas of the enterprise and use a strong customer service orientation to ensure that all requests and problems are resolved in a professional manner.
Share your expertise and provide individual training and support to users.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, technical institute degree/certificate, or equivalent work experience.
At least (5) years administering servers in an enterprise environment.
At least (5) years of experience designing, configuring, and deploying server hardware.
Typically requires (5) years of relevant information technology work experience.
At least two (2) years of experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, and security
At least two (2) years of Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant administration/global administration experience
Experience managing and providing technical expertise for all Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange, Azure AD, AD Connect, Teams, and OneDrive.
Proven project management skills.
Strong background in networking protocols and functions.
System analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Azure or AWS relevant certifications would be an advantage
ITIL v3 or v4 certifications would be an advantage
MCP, MCITP, MCSA, MCSE, and VCP would be an advantage
Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 would be an advantage
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in Windows or Linux Server system administration.
Experience with Python and Windows PowerShell
Experience in Azure or AWS management.
Experience managing Hypervisor/VMWare clusters
Experience managing a Cloud infrastructure.
Experience with identity management, role-based access controls, privilege identity management, and understanding of core security concepts and processes related to securing Cloud technologies.
Experience with OS security involving Active Directory, Windows networking, Group Policies, DNS, PKI & Certificates
Experience with backup system architectures.
Experience with integration of systems.
Desirable – experience with Azure Conditional Access, EMS E3/E5, MCAS, Azure Sentinel, Azure Service Management (ASM) and Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure Storage Metrics
Desirable – experience working with some or all these SysOps/DevOps/Automation technologies: Azure DevOps, Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet
Desirable – experience in Containerization – Dockers and Kubernetes will be plus
