Duties and Responsibilities
To assist the Internal Audit Manager in the development and execution of internal audit strategy for the organization
To assist the Internal Audit Manager in preparation of the annual audit plan and audit budget
Execute audits and assure the effectiveness of the Risk Management, Control and governance processes
Deliver audits in line with the set audit quality standards
Understands the risk profile of the business, gains and applies extensive industry knowledge in the business
Engages with business process owners to agree on audit deliverables and timeframes and issues findings about work done
Provides an independent opinion on risk & and control environment for the various business processes
Follow up on the progress of the implementation of management actions
Review risk issues and changes/developments across relevant business areas and external environments that may impact the audit strategy and use this knowledge to advise on strategy and direction into the future
Create and nurture relationships with management and other assurance providers; and
Provide clients with an understanding of internal audit expectations
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a Business related field from a recognized institution
Professional qualification (CPA(K), ACCA, etc.)
Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in the internal audit function; and
Experience in the general insurance industry is an added advantage.
