Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Teaching:
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in alignment with the English Curriculum guidelines and KISU’s pedagogical approach.
• Integrate multicultural and international perspectives into lessons to reflect KISU’s diverse student population.
• Employ a range of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles and needs.
Assessment and Reporting:
• Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and set achievable goals.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and behaviour.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports to parents and school administration.
Classroom Management:
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes mutual respect and student engagement.
• Develop and enforce classroom rules and routines to ensure a safe, orderly, and conducive learning environment.
Professional Development:
• Engage in continuous professional learning to stay updated with best practices in teaching the English Curriculum and early childhood education.
• Participate in school-wide professional development sessions and workshops.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with fellow educators, Leadership and Management, Heads of Departments, and other interdisciplinary teams to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
• Regularly communicate with parents to keep them informed about their child’s progress, behaviour, and well-being.
• Contribute and help plan community events and promote and fully
support school committees.
Extra-Curricular Activities:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
• A recognised teaching qualification in Primary Education or related field.
• Proven experience teaching Primary or equivalent level, preferably within an international school setting.
• Familiarity with the English Curriculum.
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
Desirable Qualities:
• An infectious passion for phonics and reading.
• Sound knowledge of phonics phases and secure outcomes for learners.
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A commitment to holistic child development and well-being.
• Passion for fostering a lifelong love of learning in students.
