About Functional Enablement
Serves as a point of central coordination of functional development through research and best practice, whilst delivering the strategic initiatives working across the Discovery composite and supporting the day –to –day management of operational activities. Functions that make up the unit are Business Relationship Management, Customer Services, Digital Services, Finance and Billing Operations, Workflow Optimisation, OH Claims and Benefits, Claims Support Services, Managed Care, Disease Management and New Market Integration.
Key Purpose
To effectively manage the Electronic Transaction Management (ETM) team to ensure adherence to agreed SLA’s, meeting departmental Turnaround times and Quality requirements. This extends to the following: Team Management, iQS Requirements, Project Management, Mentoring and Coaching.
Key outputs
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
Develop, coach & motivate a team to excel in performance and service delivery.
Responsible for the performance management of staff.
Build the team and identify talent.
Ensure that the service levels are maintained.
Handle the administrative functions where required.
Identify quality issues and take corrective steps by actioning quality trends.
Actioning of reports.
Responsible for resolving escalations/queries.
Responsible for quality audits to identify gaps and implement interventions.
Relationship building with internal & external clients such as Trading Partners, Bureaus and Healthcare Providers to achieve objectives.
Able to multitask and meet allocated deadlines daily.
Drive results and solutions through the team.
Reviewing specification documents to identify testing and communication requirements to Trading Partners.
Planning detailed test scenarios for end to end testing of integration with external parties.
Providing progress reports on all projects in progress.
Liaising with various systems teams to ensure the successful implementation of changes and new integrations as well as resolution of queries post implementation.
Ensuring robust post golive monitoring is conducted by ETM analysts.

Education and Experience
The following requirements are Essential:
Matric
Electronic Transaction Management knowledge and experience in a Medical Scheme administrative context
In depth knowledge of Discovery Health products – advantageous
Discovery Health Systems knowledge – advantageous
In depth knowledge of DH funding and policy rules – advantageous
Computer literate – MS Office, Excel
2 years leadership/management experience
