KUTRRH Counsellor (Renal) Jobs in Kenya
Job Purpose:
The Renal Counsellor role exists to provide counseling and support to patients with kidney-related conditions and enhances the emotional well-being and coping skills of patients facing kidney health challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide counseling to patients and families dealing with kidney-related issues.
Assess patients’ emotional and psychological needs.
Develop individualized counseling and support plans.
Offer education on kidney health and lifestyle adjustments.
Collaborate with medical teams to provide holistic care.
Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution
Registration by the Counselors and Psychologists Society of Kenya (CPS-K)
Proficiency in computer applications
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
Key Competencies & Attributes
Counseling and emotional support skills to assist patients and families facing renal issues.
Patient education expertise to provide information on renal conditions and treatment options.
Empathy and active listening to address patients’ emotional and psychological needs.
Collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care and support for renal patients.
