KUTRRH Paediatric Cardiologist Jobs in Kenya
Job Purpose
The Paediatric Cardiologist coordinates and provides specialized paediatric cardiology services and participate in research in the area of specialization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviewing patients and instructing in writing and ensuring all the recommendations are carried out.
Undertaking on call duties including clerking, investigating and managing patients.
Conducting ward rounds, clinics and theatre days as scheduled/directed.
Conduct medical research.
Training, supervising and mentoring Clinical Officers, Medical Officers, Medical Interns and
other students.
Undertaking medical examinations and preparing Medical Reports.
Carrying out health education and promotion.
Refer patients to other medical specialists for further diagnosis of complex or unclear disorder or disease within the hospital.
Establish plan of care for patients, centered on slowing the progress of their disease or
disorder, and incorporate diet and lifestyle changes, as well as monitored medications within
or without the hospital.
Any other duties as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications and Requirements
Sub-specialty in Pediatric Cardiology from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical
Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
Master of Medicine in Pediatrics and Child Health from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical
Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
Served for a minimum period of nine (9) years relevant work, five (5) of which should have been in a Management position.
Evidence of having taken a leadership course.
Retention in the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council register.
Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
Recognition as a sub-specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Counci.
Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
