Position Summary:

The successful candidate will lead the designing and delivery of Youth and Adolescent services including the DREAMS and AGYW programming, youth friendly services at health facilities, RH and Gender services at community service points. The officer will lead and develop innovative and evidence based interventions to support service delivery that target adolescents and young people.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate DREAMS-related activities in alignment with PEPFAR guidance.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and validation for program monitoring.
  • Provide technical leadership for gender and adolescent-friendly program integration.
  • Coordinate and monitor community-based organizations (CBOs) and community development organizations (CDOs) in adolescent and youth

    programs.
  • Collaborate with community, facility, and law enforcement structures to address gender-based violence (GBV).
  • Integrate preventive HIV programming into key population (KP) programs.
  • Monitor and leverage resources for program success.
  • Offer technical guidance to districts on human rights and gender issues affecting access to HIV services.
  • Develop a gender mainstreaming strategy and action plan for HIV care and treatment.
  • Document and share best practices for gender mainstreaming in HIV care programs.
  • Ensure accurate completion of M&E tools to monitor gender norms, GBV, and DREAMS targets as outlined in the work plan.Required Skills and Qualification
  • A degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Sociology or any other related field.
  • Master’s degree in public health from a recognized University is an added advantage Additional training in youth and adolescent programming is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years’ experience implementing DREAMS and gender programs
  • Knowledge of Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Policies and strategies

    Personal Attributes & Physical ability

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve set goals.
  • Ability to reside in Kayunga
  • Ability to frequently travel to the MUWRP PEPFAR supported sites in Kayunga, Mukono, Buikwe and Buvuma Islands.
