Avenue Healthcare Bio-Medical Supervisor Jobs in Kenya
Job Objective/Purpose
Maintenance of hospital equipment and machinery to ensure functionality.
Key Responsibilities
To carry out installation, maintenance, inspection & testing, fault finding and repairs of all biomedical equipment.
To carry out the preparation and operation of a scheduled preventative maintenance system for biomedical and other medical equipment.
To conduct checks, updates and reports of critical supplies of oxygen, medical gases and vacuum as required.
To conduct checks, updates and reports of critical equipment as required.
Carry out departmental audits and implementation of Quality Improvement Plans.
Identify gaps and risks in biomedical equipment and share with the Hospital Manager for implementation
Evaluate the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of medical equipment, report and implement recommendations.
Advice the Hospital Management on planning acquisition and use of medical equipment.
To assist in the preparation of reports on equipment performance and cost analysis for renewal or renovation of equipment.
Liaise with and train medical staff on the use of medical equipment.
Maintain functionality and accuracy of calibration equipment through an established planned preventative maintenance (PPM) program.
Provide bio-medical technical support to staff and contractors when required.
Plan, supervise and carry out improvements and alterations on equipment as required.
Repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment from other Avenue facilities as specified by your supervisor.
To keep abreast of new developments and acquire new skills & knowledge in order to maintain a high level of service.
Maintain client/patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Ensure that avenue corporate governance policies are adhered to
Prevent, detect and report any fraud or criminal activity
Fully review and ensure implementation of audit recommendations
Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.
Personal Specifications
Higher National Diploma in biomedical engineering, biomedical science, degree will be an added advantage.
3 years working experience in a similar position
Well versed with the following machine mechanisms Ventilation, Neurology, Electrosurgical equipment
Be familiar with hospital equipment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail
Result Oriented
Customer focus
