Innovation Competition for Young Entrepreneurs

To support emerging businesses that reduce waste, promote clean energy, and enhance natural resources, the Inter-American Foundation (IAF) and Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) are partnering to launch InnovAction 2.0, an innovation competition for young entrepreneurs.

YABT has been fostering youth entrepreneurship through its Talent and Innovation Competitions of the Americas TIC Americas program since 2007. Through its partnership with the IAF, YABT is extending its reach to more marginalized, rural, and other communities less likely to be reached by traditional business training and opportunities.

Young people from Latin America and the Caribbean can register for InnovAction 2.0 in teams of 1-10 participants. All registrants will have the opportunity to connect with business leaders and participate in business training through YABT’s Business Opportunity Online Training Camp (BOOTCamp). Registrants can also compete for seed funding, mentoring, networking opportunities, and increased visibility for their businesses in two categories.

  • Reducing Waste and Promoting Sustainability focuses on reducing food and energy waste and improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Protecting and Managing Natural Resources focuses on promoting sustainable livelihoods and food security while maintaining healthy oceans, soil, and forests.
