The Position:
The Research Technician I will provide support to provide to the pre-breeding and breeding operations in Kenya.
Key responsibilities:
• Arrange necessary tools and equipment for experiments in different environments (field/greenhouses) before conducting the experiment.
• Monitor and manage the supply chain used in experiments to ensure proper
usage and disposal.
• Perform daily measurements and weighings to update the experiment’s database.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to specific instructions to support the project.
• Adhere to relevant health and safety CIP policies and procedures.
Selection Criteria
• Completed Technical studies from a recognized institution.
• At least two years of experience required in a similar working position.
• Strong background in Agricultural and laboratory equipment management.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the cultivation, care, and management of potato crops.
• Experience in field and greenhouse agronomic practices
• Intermediate knowledge of database work.
• Intermediate level of MS Office
• Intermediate written and oral communication skills in English, Fluent in Kiswahili.
