Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing monthly/quarterly forecasts for the company for income and cash flows.
  • Responsible to initiate all payments to suppliers and staff of Qhala Ltd
  • Responsible for filing taxes on Itax i.e. VAT, Withholding tax, PAYE, Housing levy, NITA, NSSF, NHIF and any other taxes that need to be filed.
  • Maintain P&Ls for Qhala’s practice areas and analyze monthly revenue and opex performance by practice area
  • Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support, including analysis on project profitability, return on investment for marketing and business development activities
  • Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Execute month-end accruals and journal entries, with guidance from operations and the CFO function
  • Play a key role in supporting enterprise level planning working closely with finance leaders and the executive team
  • Take a key role in the monthly board reporting pack process. This will be heavily weighted towards KPI tracking and performance to budgets.
  • Continuously learn the business and connect financials to business and functional goals.
  • Develop credibility with business partners.
  • Ad hoc modeling and analysis merging financial and business Key Performance Indicators
  • Support investment analysis into prospective tech start-ups to be onboarded into Q-Lab, and review all non-legal pertinent information about prospective deals
  • Support functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control and project control

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA a plus.
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/ CPA)
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in Financial Analysis required
  • Consultancy and/or technology industry experience preferred
  • Experience in a startup company a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically in Excel, macros, data analysis, and pivot tables.
  • Strong ERP and Planning systems experience. Power BI a plus
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve, both autonomously and within teams.
  • Approachable and confident personality type, comfortable within a wide range of organizational environments.
  • High integrity and natural desire to assume responsibility.
