Uganda Cancer Institute Radiation Therapy Technologist Jobs
Job Purpose:
To ensure that Radiographic imaging carried out and formatted report submitted to Clinician
Qualification:
Bachelor of Science in Medical Radiography (Therapy) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council

Duties & Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Head Engineering for performing the following duties:-
Ensuring daily quality assurance and daily quality control of radiotherapy processes;
Constructing and preparing immobilization, beam directional and beam-modification devices.
Delivering radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
Detect and report significant changes in patients’ conditions and determine when to withhold treatment until the radiation oncologist is consulted.
Monitoring under the direction of a Radiation
Oncologist, doses to normal tissues within the
irradiated volume to ensure tolerance levels are not exceeded.
Participating in simulating and localizing treatment planning procedures and dosimetric calculations as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
Knowledge of imaging technologies for the explicit purpose of simulation, treatment planning and treatment delivery, Train, educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
Working knowledge in brachytherapy procedures.
Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
