Uganda Cancer Institute Medical Officer Special Grade (Gynaecology Oncology) Jobs

Job Purpose:

To manage the delivery of effective and efficient Internal medicine services at the Institute.

Qualification:

MBChB Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

A Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

Sub-specialisation/Fellowship/or undergoing a

Fellowship training in Medical Oncology and

Haematology

Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental

Practitioners Council.

Must have a valid practicing License.

Key competencies

The incumbent should have competences in: Planning, organizing and coordinating; Financial Management; Human Resource Management; Change Management; Coaching and mentoring; Effective communication; Knowledge management; Ethics and Integrity; Leadership; Team work and Time management

Duties & Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible to Consultant (Medical oncology) for performing the following duties:-

Responsible for ensuring efficient management of services in his/her specialization at the Institute and the catchment area.

Supervise and mentor Senior House Officers, Medical Officers, Interns and other Health Professionals under him/her.

Plan and coordinate training programmes of Health Professionals under him/her.

Plan and coordinate Continuous Professional

Development (CPD) in his/her specialty, for Health

professionals at the Institute and the catchment area.

Provide technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialization to Government and the Institute.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
