SPARK Schools Recruitment Officer (Temporary) Jobs in South Africa
Purpose of Role:
The Recruitment Officer is responsible for an efficient and effective recruitment and selection process to ensure that the Schools’ network attracts and recruits high performing and strong cultural fit candidates for vacancies.
Directly Reports to: Talent Acquisition Manager
Responsibilities:
Attraction:
Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, universities and providing network information and opportunities.
The posting and updating of job vacancies on the careers page and various job board portals.
Networking with various stakeholders to ensure an ongoing pipeline of potential referral candidates.
Shortlist and screening:
Determines applicant requirements by carefully studying the current job description
Thorough screening and shortlisting of CVs according to the requirements of the job description whilst ensuring ongoing feedback to candidates
Telephonic screening of applicants to ensure they meet the job requirements and SPARK cultural fit
Submission and coordination/marking of benchmark Subject Knowledge Tests
Coordination of review and assessment of Video upload/In-Person interviews:
Coordination of review and assessment of lesson demonstration and Video/In-Person interviews with Line Managers and relevant panel members.
Administration:
Ongoing communication of feedback to candidates including confirmation of unsuccessful applications.
Make recommendations to applicants and relevant Line Managers with regards to location, job role, start date and salary.
Keep record of all recruitment data as per company recruitment policy and procedures.
Conducting fingerprints and criminal clearances with shortlisted candidates
Follow procedure of informing Line Manager and Human Capital Department of new employee start date.
Coordinate background checks including but not limited to; qualification and police clearance.
Coordinate psychometric assessments should this be required for a specific vacancy.
Internal recruitment facilitation:
Ensures the standards of internal recruitment are met in order to provide a fair and consistent process to identify suitable and high performing individuals.
Give constructive feedback regarding growth opportunities for candidates who do not meet the requirements for promotions and internal transfers.
Reporting and Recruitment Tracking:
Ongoing reporting of relevant data as per network objectives
Updating of comments and progress on the Recruitment Dashboard/Masterfile
Updating of the Recruitment Tracking Sheet in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Manager
Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Completed relevant Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience:
At least 1 – 3 years’ experience in general recruitment, selection and/or talent management.

Ability to navigate complex information systems and handle large complex data.
