Purpose of Job
The Senior Analyzer Specialist is responsible to ensure installed assets are performing in support of the most profitable operating window of our units which will be determined by, but not limited to, availability, reliability, and product quality. The successful candidate will utilize sound level of experience to deliver maintenance and operational support and to govern engineering technical standards as they pertain to process analyzers.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Provide direct support to Maintenance and Operations in driving existing plant analyzer systems reliability and operational availability
Maximize reliability while minimizing the life cycle costs for analyzer assets to include PM/PdM strategies, spare parts evaluations, and defect elimination
Develop Bad Actor equipment lists and implement reliability improvement plans to increase mean time between failure (MTBF) and eliminate repeat offenders
Develop and Track End of Life Sustainment Strategy for Analytical Instrumentation and make capital recommendations to ensure asset availability
Effectively engage with operations, maintenance, process control, and engineering resources to identify and implement process analyzer optimization and reliability improvement opportunities
Serve as an analyzer technology and application subject matter expert and liaison between plant maintenance, process control, operations personnel, and external resources
Provide commissioning / startup assistance and troubleshooting support of process analyzer systems with maintenance, operations, and process control personnel
Support the design and specification of on-line analyzers and analyzer systems
Support development of new analyzer applications and determine the application and benefits from new technologies
Formal Education
University Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical
Min Experience
Experience: 5+ relevant years
Required Personal/Professional Skills
Experience working in a petrochemical production environment
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, written, and verbal skills
Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel and stakeholders at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, and management as well as suppliers of Process Analyzer and Process Control Technology equipment and services
An understanding of the principles of analytical chemistry and associated equipment to correspond with onsite chemist and analyzer manufacturers.
Problem solving / troubleshooting of analysis systems including sample systems and analyzers
Applicable knowledge of process analyzer systems technology including interface with process control systems
Familiarity with CEMS analyzer systems
Compliance requirements for PSM, OSHA, and state reporting for environmental systems
