DRC Protection Officer (Case Management) Jobs in Ethiopia
Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Case Management Officer will work under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader to ensure the quality all aspects of case management activities implemented by the team, ensure the case management work plan, reports and relevant trackers are timely updated, and provide timely feedback and information on protection issues identified. S/he will be based in Dollo Ado office
Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
Ensure case management services such as assessment of clients’ needs, development of action plans, information sharing and referral to relevant service providers and follow up are done in accordance with DRC Case Management Standard Operating Procedures.
Lead case conference meetings with representatives from other services when needed.
Supervise the Case workers and ensure quality case management services.
Carry out service mapping to identify the available community services.
Build and maintain relationships with relevant service providers to support safe referrals.
Operate in close alignment with referral pathways agreed at interagency level.
Conduct regular and systematized follow-up of all referred cases to ensure adequate service provision, reassess needs and potentially identify any new trends.
Hold awareness raising meetings with stakeholders to inform them about DRC case management services and other protection information topics.
Collaborate with other DRC departments to encourage referrals and information exchange.
Contribute to and provide field-related inputs for proposals for funding for new projects.
Ensure that all interactions with individual beneficiaries take place in an environment and in a way that respect and promote the individuals’ safety, agency and dignity in accordance with professional standards for protection and humanitarian work.
Reporting and administrative responsibilities
Ensure the team is supported with procurement and administrative documentation required for the implementation of case management.
Contribute to accurate and timely reporting and that program documentation is maintained and up to date.
Meet with the Caseworkers once a week for individual supervision and provide support
Review Case management weekly reports
Produce quality and accurate reports and supporting documentation on CM activities and ensure their timely submission to the Protection Team Leader for review and internal information sharing.
Ensure that both the hard and soft copies of all activity reports and case management files are safely archived. Overall, effectively use the tools and comply with the processes related to monitoring and reporting, including through the use of shared drive and dedicated platforms for information management.

Experience and technical competencies:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of humanitarian response and refugee/IDP protection working for an international NGO, UN agency or relevant ministry or local authority.
Experience working with vulnerable groups, case management, social work or counselling
Experience working with displaced or conflict affected populations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Confident in discussing delicate matters and working with those in distress.
A high sense of personal integrity, as well as an understanding of confidentiality and ethics.
Competence in supervising
Ability to collaborate effectively with vulnerable people, staff members, and stakeholders from various backgrounds
Demonstrated planning, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
Essential skills in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Education:
University degree in social work, psychology, and or other relevant field from a recognized institution
Language:
Excellent skills in speaking, reading and writing English, Amharic And Somali
