Apex Confectionery PLC is a new light manufacturing firm engaged in the production of sweet foods such as chewing gum, candies, toffees and lollipops. The company is seeking to hire a

Proactive, Organized, Competant and Experienced Senior Finance Officer.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement finance manuals, strategies, systems, tactics, initiatives and procedures across the organization; aligned with the company’s overall business strategy and mission.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through financial analysis.
  • Develop, review and monitor the preparation and execution of the company’s budget.
  • Manage and supervise all finances: sales, local and import purchases, bank reconciliations, internal audits and external audits.
  • Develop strategies to minimize financial risk
  • Analyse trends and develop projections for the firm’s finances and report on how the company and future business might be impacted.
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information for company Directors while recommending solutions.
  • Constantly monitor costs and pricing to determine real‐time profitability.
  • Advise on investment activities and recommend strategies that the company should adopt.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost‐reduction opportunities.
  • Liaison with various other departments like HR and Production in drafting and executing action plans.
  • Liaison with the Tax Authority: prepare and submit monthly excise tax, withholding tax, salary tax and pension figures + quarterly VAT returns as well as annual tax returns. Be able to effectively present and negotiate with the tax authority during audits.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure appropriate accounting of the company’s finances.
  • Banks ‐ Submit and follow up on FOREX applications
  • Banks ‐ Submit and follow up on loan applications
  • Prepare and manage all import related documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements

  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Effective organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in QuickBooks accounting software.
  • People oriented and results driven.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
