MTN Analyst – Financial Operations Jobs in Uganda
Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
Analysis of mobile money cost of sales
Analysis of mobile money revenues
Re-performing bank account reconciliation
Analysis of inter-company cross charges
Analysis and revalidation of all Opco Opex captured in GL
Main Job Functions:
Reconciliation of assigned OPCOs mobile money Trust account vs EWP, follow up on all identified reconciling items with respective Opco for closure.
Reconciliation of all assigned OPCO restricted cash (prefunded account) between Ericsson Converged Wallet and General Ledger (GL).
Re-compute and validate all transaction revenue for the assigned Opcos daily, weekly, then prepare signoff for updating in the GL
Recognize all unliquidated signoff revenue weekly as account receivables from mobile money system or customers for offline revenue.
Re-compute and validate all commission incurred both on online and offline for weekly review and signoff.
Follow up on all reconciled revenue to ensure they are liquidated and transferred to bank weekly.
Analysis of all agent commissions for completeness and accuracy.
Review journals passed in mobile money system to ensure accuracy and completeness in posting.
Reconciliations of all mobile money revenues and agent commission.
Participate in Mobile Money cross functional team action plans and follow up of issues raised.
Check all customer liquidations done on EWP for completeness and accuracy.
Follow up of audit recommendations in mobile money area.
Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Commerce and Statistics.
Experience:
At least 2 years finance experience in a busy competitive industry.
Must be able to foster good working relationships with internal departments.

A good working knowledge in office automation tools: Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, SQL.
Understanding of Mobile Money registration and liquidation procedures
Knowledge of current and relevant legislation
Familiar with MTN Fintech products and services will be added advantage.
