Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounts Commerce (Finance Option), Business Administration, Business Management, Economics or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
Proficient in Computer Applications; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Responsibilities
Account for the production, disposition and sales of crude oil and natural gas products;
Determine product value and production taxes;
Review the pricing of contracts and agreements;
Apply fixed-asset and work-in-progress accounting procedures;
Account for the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and gas leases;
Review joint operating agreements and contracts to determine how they mandate the accounting for capital and operating expenditures;
Perform month-end closing activities, including entering journal entries, determining required accruals and performing various calculations;
Prepare monthly financials statements, including analysis of results;
Provide guidance on accounting matters such as implications of new accounting pronouncements and classification of transactions;
Ensure detailed compliance with internal controls and procedures;
Assist with the annual audit by preparing various schedules and responding to audit queries;
Assist with the annual budget and analyze and report monthly actuals compared to forecast and
Assist with various monthly reporting requirements as necessary.
